I looked up in the midnight sky To see if you were there I turned around and round again Searching in despair And there you were, I found you Brilliant and bright The brightest star amongst the rest Lighting up the night I reached my hand out high to you To try and touch your face I just wanted to talk to you And feel your warm embrace You shone so bright, then winked at me As I began to cry My tears became surrendered To the darkness of the night I left you there amongst the quiet And stillness in the air The calm and deep serenity Knowing you were safe To rest your eyes and be at peace Is all I want for now To hold you close, deep in our hearts Until we meet again Written for an amazing Dad and Grandpa that will be missed every day.
